Signing of Strategic Collaboration between National University of Civil Engineering and Moscow State University of Civil Engineering (Russia) and Miskolc University (Hungary)

Within the framework of an official visit to the Russian Federation and the Republic of Hungary of His Excellency Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong, the delegation of the Ministry of Education and Training (MOET) led by Minister Phung Xuan Nha and Rectors of Vietnamese universities had performed many activities, including a sign of cooperation documents with Moscow State University of Civil Engineering (MGSU), Russia and University of Miskolc, Hungary.

In Moscow, on the 6 th September 2018, the delegation of NUCE led by the Secretary of the Party Committee – Assoc. Prof. Pham Duy Hoa, visited and had a meeting with leaders of MGSU. Working with the delegation was Prof. Andrey A. Volkov – Rector of MGSU, Prof. Elena Gogina – Vice-Rector of MGSU. In the meeting, Prof. Volkov showed his welcome to NUCE delegation for the visit and cooperation. Both parties had agreed to set up a specialized group to implement joint training programs, research programs, cooperated projects, international conferences, students and lecturers exchange, and integrate application of laboratories and library materials.

In the morning of 7 th September 2018, Assoc. Prof. Pham Duy Hoa – Rector of NUCE continued accompanying Minister Phung Xuan Nha to visit and work with Russian universities. MGSU and National Research University";Moscow Power Engineering Institute" (MEI) were two universities that were visited by the Vietnamese delegation. Minister Phung Xuan Nha appreciated MGSU (as one of 29 research universities of the Russian Federation) for supporting Vietnam in educating and training many staffs who had proved their significance in Vietnamese economy, politic and education in general, as well as
in the construction industry. The Minister suggested a sustainable cooperation between NUCE and MGSU in long-term training, researching, especially for some areas such as smart city, new materials, nano technology and structural engineering.

In the meeting, Prof. Andrey A. Volkov – Rector of MGSU expressed his honor and gladness for the visit; also pledged to continue promoting cooperation in construction with Vietnam, especially the National University of Civil Engineering in specific areas mentioned above by the Minister. Subsequently, Prof. Volkov introduced the Minister and delegation to laboratory facilities and research directions that currently conducted by MGSU.

In the same afternoon of the 7 th September 2018, a Signing Ceremony between universities of Vietnam and Russia was held. NUCE and MGSU signed a Strategic Collaboration Agreement with the witness of Minister Phung Xuan Nha and Deputy Minister Marina Alexandrovna.

In sequence, the delegation proceeded with an official visit to the Republic of Hungary. In the morning of 11 th September 2018, the 2nd Conference of Rectors of Vietnam – Hungary universities had been held in Hungarian National Academy of Finance, in Budapest. Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong and Vice-President of Hungary Mihály Varga attended and delivered the opening speeches.

Within this conference, a cooperation agreement was signed between NUCE and University of Miskolc, Hungary.

With a history of more than 275 years of education and research, University of Miskolc is one of the top universities in Hungary, having variety of academic programs. The cooperation signing shall bring more opportunities for sustainable development of two universities in research, training, student and lecturer exchanges, particularly in civil construction, informatics and surveying education.
